Can Mac mail be connected to Exchange server 2003

Does anyone know if and how you can get mac mail on Os 10.1-10.2.8 to connect to Exchange server. Is Entourage the only way or r there other decent mail clients for mac 10 os's.Thanks

Any mail client that supports POP can connect to an Exchange server, and, if your version of Exchange is not terribly old, IMAP clients will work as well.
Depends on how the server is set up. If youve set it up to allow POP, then yes, POP clients can use it, however if it's set up as strictly an Exchange server, then no.

Or, as stated in the question, OS X Mail.app, which can use exchange servers.

Yes it does thanks. That was one of my other questions posted. How to Authenticate?. Sounds best to get the 10.3 first.
