The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Other Windows workgroup computer is not accessible

Hi,
I have very simple Workgroup here in my home where I have two computers (Computer1 and Computer2) joined to this group. I can see both computers from "View workgroup computers" and I have shared some resources (one folder from both computers) to the workgroup.

I can explore Computer2 shared folder from Computer1 but not vice versa. When I try to access Computer1 (doubleclick Computer1 from "View workgroup computer") I get an error which sais:

"\\Computer1 is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Logon failure: user account restrictions. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced"

Well, I don't know what is actually wrong here...?

- I have shared these folders same way from both computers.
I don't know why, but somehow sharing forms doesn't look same in these computers. When sharing folder (right click folder and clicking Sharing and security...) in Computer1 there is five different tabs (General, Sharing, Security, Web Sharing, Customize) in form when in Computer2 there is only three tabs (General, Sharing, Customize). Hmmm... if I remember right I installed IIS to the Computer1 some time ago... maybe this is the reason?
- Both computers have Windows XP Professional (SP1) installed.

I haven't played with Windows networks a lot, so I could use some help here! I suppose this isn't very difficult one but I'm getting quite frustrated here...
