Automatic DNS assignment on a VPN client
How can I force a DNS entry in a VPN client WITHOUT having to edit the local “host file” and “manually put a "DNS IP” in the VPN client connection?
Or how does the VPN server assign a DNS to a client once connected?
Reason being that once a client is connected it dosent get the DSN entry from the VPN server automaticly. The VPN is propertly configured and has a propper DNS
Thank you

That depends.. what are you using as a VPN concentrator?
agreed. Do you have control over what IP address the vpn client gets from the connection via auto-assignment?
If Win XP, then use netsh to script a DNS change:

Based on your other post, I am assuming you are using a CheckPoint client/VPN router. If so you should be able to configure DNS within the Checkpoint router for the clients. The Windows DHCP server will not pass on DNS entries to VPN clients as a rule.
A couple of other thoughts:
-You can also manually add the remote DNS server to your local DNS servers in your network card's TCP/IP configuration
-Test if you can connect with the full computer and domain name as \\ComputerName.domain.loca l If so, add the suffix DomainName.local to the DNS configuration of the virtual private adapter/connection [ right click virtual adapter | properties | TCP/IP properties | Advanced | DNS | "Append these DNS suffixes (in order)" | Add ]
