List Clients Connected to a Share.

Hi :):)

I am currently trying to decommision a dfs root and revert back to standard shares.

I have changed all logon scripts and any policy's to use the new UNC paths and most clients have taken these changes.

It would appear though, if i goto computer management and list the shares it shows there are still 5 client connections to the dfs share.

Some computers are locked (which is possibly the reason)

----------------------

I would like to know if there is any way of showing these connections? I can see client connections and open files, but cannot see user/computer connections to the share.

eg \\server\share - Connected: Client1 Client2

Thx a lot for any input :):)

You should be able to do with Computer Management as well.  Like you said, open files shows the user connected to the file.  Now click sessions and look for the user and then it will show the computer they are connected from.

Thx for ur comments Pber.

It was a lil hard to word, but i am trying to determine client connections to a share....

The share is dfs, and also there is a standard share using the same target location, so i cannot determine who is using which share via computer management.

\\domain\dfsshare == \\server\share in this case.

so as per my example i would like to see \\server\share - Clients connected: client1 client2.
