Broadcasting MP3's from an FTP site

I have an FTP site with many (legitimate) MP3's from my own music collection - I want to know if there's a way to broadcast or stream the MP3's accrss the internet to allow me to listen to them from my work, without having to copy the files to my local machine.

I would recomend shoutcast style. Mp3´s beeing streamed to your client. Try out the system by installing winamp and choose a channel on http://yp.shoutcast.com/

Questions needed to clarify whats best for you include what os is you running, do you have a good connection to internet, how deep is your knowledge/experience?

Problems for you may come from the system admin at your work.
For example; waste of bandwith, not able to install (winamp, others), firewall blocking streamed ports and so on.

hey Niklas,

I managedt to find shoutcast yesterday afternoon, only to come in and find this answer from you this morning.

I've installed it but didn't get time to configure Shoutcast, which I will do this evening.
