still not working... i think if msn cant do it through those ports, it re-routes through http port 80... which is a problem, because if i block that, all http traffic gets blocked!
so how do i block this messenger app.?
Main Topics
Browse All Topicshave a dsl linksys router w/ filtering functionality. setup the following filters for msn messenger:
IN TCP 6891 - 6900
IN TCP 1863
IN UDP 1863
IN UDP 5190
IN UDP 6901
IN TCP 6901
but users are still able to access msn messenger... it only blocks it between machines on the LAN, but they can chat w/ users outside our LAN.
is this because msn messenger is using port 80?
if so, how do i block it on the linksys router... it's a BEFSR11.
Thanks!

I think you want in and out 1863 and 5190..
I only see 1863 as the port on the 207.46.x.x machines..
