hi......the msn messanger block on ISP ..in my country...can anyone help me with this problem..

Msn messenger runs on port 1863. Make sure that ports open. Ur ISP shouldn't block it

Once Installed u shud Log on using msn mess. Use correct http proxy & port number then try. It should work.
Anyways, Deletian, Where i can find Port 1863?

to find whether ur browser is using proxy, goto its options/properties....u can find the proxy address and port in the connection tab.
use that same in the msn messg properties.

does yahoo work? see what is set in its properties

yes yahoo messanger work but the msn does not work but the msn does not work ....and i hope jackjack97 is just jocking....

as i said that the msn messanger does not WORK ......there were a Program it's name"http tunel"....it was work but now...it does not.............

ok....iam using proxy
the proxy server name and the name too

put the same proxy name/number and port into msn settings
and then try to connect using msn msg...

in msn
tools >> options >> connection...
check i use proxy server...
enter the server ip/name and port...

u need to enter password and other stuff only if u r using socks proxy...

my country doing similar, they block some websites like cnn.com.  You can try to change other DNS, don't use the ISP provided, because ISP may set restriction on their DNS.  I did it, so i can enter cnn.com now.  But i didn't try on MSN Messager(because they didn't block it), anyway just try.

if the isp is blocking on dns server, u can try to access website using ip address.
but if he is blocking based on ip number itself...ur out of luck...

u can try one thing...find out a friend who is not in your country and ask him to run a proxy server, then u can access blocked website using his address as ur proxy server.
but  this would work only if he has public ip address.

 My DNS is 210.184.16.65, or you can try other ISP's DNS in your country.

block ip is not a good method for blocking, if the server is changed the blocking will be broken.  And most large webserver has  many cluster server which may be installed at different country.  The ISP need to block many IPs, but Domain Name can not be changed.

proxy server may solve this problem, but proxy server also need a DNS!!!!

if the isp blocks the dns, users can still get by using ip in the browser...
they need to block using both ways for effective blocking...
