Cisco 2950 Switch Locking up.

Hello Experts,

Here is a weird problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have a Cisco 2950 Switch (ws-c2950-24) That keeps locking up. By locking up, I mean not allowing any traffic to pass through. I can however console in and look at it. Software version is 12.1.

Here is my configuration. This is an MDF switch that feeds seven IDF's. All the IDF's are connected via fiber and come in to the MDF into an IMC mm1300 media converter, and then from the media converter to the switch in question. The ports on the switch are set to 100 mbps full duplex. (Yes I have tried different configurations and still no luck).

The only thing that stands out while the switch is "Locked up" is that there are an excessive amount of ignored packets and multicast traffic. I thought that the one of the fiber links could be flaky causing all the multicast traffic, I had all them tested. I am in the process of checking all the fiber patch cables from the panel to the switch.

Once the switch has been reloaded it works like it should for another two or three days. There has been no pattern to when this thing locks up.

Any ideas is greatly appreciated.
