Hello raff_2003:
If all the computers are Windows 95, 98. ME, 2000 or XP Home or PRO versions, then you can setup a workgroup and share files and printing among all the computers.
If you have a server (WIndows NT4.0 or Windows 2000 server) you can setup a domain with a Star Topology
(see: http://www.webopedia.com/T
You can find all the hardware at www.newegg.com (free shipping on most items), and www.cdw.com, also at any local computer store near you:
1- Wireless-G Broadband Router with 4-port 10/100 Switch WRT54G $99.99 x 1 = 99.99
2- Linksys WPC54G Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G $59.99 x 1 = 59.99
3- Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter WMP54G $59.99 x 4 = 239.96
4- Linksys Wireless Signal Booster WSB24 $88.00 x 1 = 88.00
Total $ 487.94 approximately
The other option is to setup a wired network and installing a wireless access point at the DSL router with a wireless notebook adapter for the laptop. It would be less expensive, but it takes more work installing all the cables and connecting them. Also it has to be done by someone that has some experience wiring home for a computer network.
I hope that this hepls you,
LuisP
