Question

pathping

Asked by: dcpinger

This is a repeated post as my original one this am disappeared. I tried using pathping today and was amazed at how cool it is. However... I cannot pathping more than once. I pathpinged microsoft.com and all the info cascaded down. This was done with no syntax but it worked great. I tried to path ping microsoft again and all it does is register one hop and computes the statistics for the one hop and says trace complete. If I try another site it does the same thing. I tried it on another machine and again one hop. Tracert shows all hops on both machines, but pathping doesn't. Zone alarm is turned off although it worked fine with it on the first time. I tried rebooting and that did no good. I tried logging on as Administrator and no go. However, and this is the weird thing, when I came back home after work this afternoon and turned on the computer pathping worked....once!! Tried it again and the same thing happened like this morning. Both machine are XP Pro, cable modem, and a Linksys router. I have no other network issues that I know of. Is there something about pathping I'm not getting. This is driving me crazy.
Any help help would be greatly appreciated
