The IBM 8235 originally is the Shiva Lanrover access server.

Dialback is, was and never will be supported for NT/W2k/XP operating systems. It only worked with the larger Shiva Lanrover Access Switches (LRAS).
The smaller Lanrovers only support dialback using spap, and since Shiva wrote the dial-up networking for Windows 95/98 it worked fine with these OS'es. But Microsoft choosed not to support spap in NT and higher. Shiva supported both spap and mscbcp in the LRAS series.
