T-connectors and terminators are used for entirely different things.
A T-connector is used for branching off of a coaxial cable.
A terminator is a resistor, in effect, for "terminating" a coaxial cable. Proper termination is needed in the end points of a coax to avoid signal reflection and damping.
A network built with coaxial cable would typically have a "trunk" cable and T-connectors (or similar arrangement) along it for hooking up the computers. Any unused branch would need to have a terminator (if the stub cable were longer than 10 cm or something) at the end.
