Replace W2K3 PDC with W2K PDC

I have a customer who set up a Windows 2003 server to be used as their PDC. After they had it up and running they found out the cost of upgrading some of their current software to work properly with it was exhorbitant and decided to go back to using a W2K server. The other servers in their network (Mail, Web, etc) are still running W2k. I have set up an identical server running W2K, have configured it to be the primary server, set up ADS, DNS, DHCP etc. All the user files and ADS users and groups have been entered. Can I just drop this box in without causing any problems? Are there going to be problems because the forest was "upgraded" to be in a W2K3 domain? Any and all help with this dilemma will be appreciated! Install needs to be completed within the next 10 days and done right the first time without any suprises so offering "extra" points for concise, detailed working answer. Thanks ahead of time for all your help!
