  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Speed Issues with E Mule downloads - Low ID problem

I have Direcway satelite DW6000 system, a Netgear WGT624 router, a wired cat5 network, and multiple computers running WinXp, pretty new and fully updated.  The speed of my connection is decent in speed tests or if downloading from a good ftp site.  But when I connect to an E-Mule server I always get "Low ID" and the speed of download is seldom more than 1-6kbps.  On Limewire I often get 30-60kbps and from a good ftp site I've had up to 160kbps.  Speed test from the ISP shows around 500kbps down and 300 up.  On the forum for E-Mule the only help I found talked about port forwarding.  I tried to change the router firewall settings like they said but it made no difference.  I know that speed depends on who you're downloading from, but I can tell something is wrong with my E-Mule connection because it is so different from everything else.  It seems like if it were a firewall issue I couldn't connect at all.  Any experience with this?
