I am a bit confused by the following

>>i am using LAN and Micosoft Firewall Client
>>when ever i put a different proxy (proxy is checked and is working elsewhere)
>>it give page could not be found,

In my limited knowlege and experience I was under the impression that the Microsoft Firewall Client was needed only if you are using Microsoft's Proxy server or ISA Server - are you using one of these?

Also line 2 above is not clear - can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean.

The service packs are inclusive - so SP4 includes 1,2 and 3. As you have already done SP4 you can't then install SP2 or 3 - I would expect that is the reason you are getting the error messsage - it is not a problem.

Are you permissioned to use the other proxy servers?
Might help if you could explain why you need to change proxy servers and whether or nt they are in the same business or external ones.

yes my Net Administrator is using ISA server
i was using proxy win win98 . and i am allowed to do so,
i was using proxy eg. (www.crc-cmputer.com:8080) and other proxy in internet explorer in win98 and it was working perfectly

If you can already use the ISA server as a proxy why do you need to change?
Has your system administrator changed any settings - for example blocking outgoing port 8080 in the outside world router - to prevent the use of other proxies?
