I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router with the latest firmware, ver. 1.50.14, that sits behind my cable modem. I have a Windows 2000 Pro laptop that is set up to receive incoming connections. Internet connectivity is working fine. The laptop is receiving a dynamic ip lease of 192.168.1.100. PPTP passthrough is enabled on the router and I have TCP port 1723 forwarding to my laptop's internal ip address. When I try to connect to it remotely, the "Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" screen just sits there and then I get an "Error 800: Unable to establish VPN Connection." message once it times out. I've found where several people on different forums had this same problem, particularly with Linksys routers. Any thoughts?
