1) :-( looks like you need to swap that router for one with USB connection, or call your ISP to swap out your modem for one with Ethernet connection, or connect that PC to the USB modem, and use the router as a simple switch/hub to connect all the PC's together and use Internet Connection Sharing on the one with the modem (Win98SE, WinXP, Win2kPro all have ICS)
2) ALL network cards that have R45 connection will work with CAT5 cable
