Hi Everyone:
I am been working with some kinks with my DSL for a little while now. One thing mentioned within a previous post relates to subnet mask addresses. Specifically, some people believe the DSL Modem and Wireless Router is occuppying the same subnet mask. Using the IP addresses (e.g. DSL Modem 192.168.1.254 and Wireless Router 192.168.2.1), are these two network devices occuppying the same subnet mask? It is my understand that if the third set of digits (DSL Modem is 1 and Wireless Router is 2) are the same, then, they are occuppying the same subnet mask. Since these devices have different third set digits, is it reasonable to conclude they are using separate subnets?
Any attention to this question will be appreciated.
Thank you
George
