You should be able to determine what port the game sever uses from the documentation for the game itself.  They will providde this information to you so you can either open the ports on your firewall or forward the ports.  If you let me know what game it is I can try to find out this information myself.

If the machine you are connecting from has direct access to the internet, you can go to a site like www.grc.com and they will detect your IP and run scans against you.  If you are protected by a router or firewall sites like that will only scan the outermost device, the one directly connected to the internet.

If you have another machine on the same network, you could use something like nmap to scan for open ports - www.insecure.org/nmap

Are you trying to determine which port to open for your game server? If yes, then what you need to do is to connect to your Game server locally using your game client. At the same time, launch a command prompt and type netstat -n.

You should be able to see something like this: (EXAMPLE)

Proto  Local Address          Foreign Address        State
TCP    10.0.0.2:4723         10.0.0.1:3333           ESTABLISHED

The 10.0.0.2 is your game client ip and 10.0.0.1 will be the game server and the 3333 is the port.
Usually game server will have more than 1 port open, one is for the authetication, the other is for transmission control

Hope this helps.

cheers,
nowonderla

Connect a laptop to the internet  using a dialup modem. Launch your game client to 220.73.175.194. And then use
netstat -n to check the ports.

princeofem, if you don't have a dialup modem, then use my method 1. Alternatively you can open all the ports in the firewall and test quickly. Just remember to plug your ONLY your computer to the firewall as I din;t want you being hack for this.

Let's me know if you have any issue.

thanks.
