The system: Dell 4150 inspiron. Broadcom/Dell TrueMobile 1180 wireless card.
Ghosted/replaced the hard drive recently. Everything is working fine now (wired networks and all) w/exception of the wireless card. When I use the broadcom utility to try to configure the card I'm unable to change any WEP/SSID etc. settings. I can do a site survey and see my and my neighbor's networks. When I try to "View Available Networks" from the broadcomm/Dell configuration utility....where I would expect to select an option to connect/configure WEP....I get a message that windows is controlling the adapter. I try right clicking "View Available Networks" on the Windows wireless network tray icon and I get the message that another software besides windows is controlling this adapter...use that software. Dueling Software utilities? I've tried to enable wireless zero configuration to no avail...gone to great lengths to include copying scripts from this site into the registry to force it.....when I pull up available services WZC service isn't there.
HOW DO I GAIN CONTROL OF MY WIRELESS CARD AGAIN?
Thanks in advance to all for your help...
