With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Leveraging a CAT5 phone system?...

Here's one for you guys...  I moved into a new house and was able to set up my network with no problem (cable modem, linksys 8 port router, linksys WAP).  This house is a new build and the telephone infrastructure uses cat5 cable and the ethernet sized (r45?) outlets with a 10 port GE Telco Module (CC-TP0110).  Since I use my internet connection and Vonage for phone service I'm wondering if I can leverage this existing phone setup to make all my phone outlets (r45) live network ports.

Can I use the existing GE Telco module somehow to accomplish this or can I cut the cables to the telco module and connect them directly to the router.  I'd rather run one line from my router to the module  than run several from the module to my router but I don't know what's possible...
