The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Router software NAT and port forward on a laptop

Asked by zenportafino in Miscellaneous Networking

Ok I know this is kind of nutty but for fun I set up a new laptop with 2GB of RAM running XP pro. I loaded VMware and set up a domain controller and an exchange cluster on the thing. I have a wireless broad band pcmcia card so that I have internet everywhere and use "No IP" to use dynamic DNS - mx records configured as well.

Mail sends out find but it's the incomming that's a problem. Mail traffic hits the card but doesn't get passed to the mail server. The card has an address of 70.65.32.X and the Vm's are on a 192.168.X.X network. I used a loopback adapter for binding and set internet connection sharing on the wireless card. This gives the VM's the ability to connect to the internet and the mail server can sucessfully initiate smtp sessions.

Does anyone know of a software program that I could use to set up incomming port forwarding (25) on the 70.x.x.x card to 192.168.0.202 - my mail server?  I need 70.x.x.x to send all port 25 traffic to 192.168.0.202.

Thanks in advance!
