The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Wireless Networking Problems

Someone kindly re-arranged my home network for me and now I can't get it to work!

I have a peer-to-peer LAN network under XP with a Netgear DG834 firewall router, to which is connected a Linksys 802.11b wireless adapter.

I can browse the internet from this PC, but:

1.  I have a message on this PC saying: "LAN to Wireless access a network cable is unplugged".
2.  When I browse the network from this PC I get an error message saying "MShome is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource".
3.  No other machone on the network can browse the network or the internet, whether connected by cable or wireless.

I have checked that both the router and wireless adapter appear to be working normally. I have tried swtitching around the ports and cables used to connect the wireless adapter to the router.

Any suggestions?
