Script for warning message to appear when logging off on certain machine

We have a boardroom machine which has a microphone plugged into it for recording conferences.

It is battery powered, and has to be turned off when finished with or the battery runs down.

I need to create, either somehow through group policy (perhaps with a script?) some kind of popup messages for anyone logging onto the machine to turn the microphone off.

The reason I am a bit stumped is because this needs to be done at logOFF, as opposed to system off (we don't allow users to shut down machines). The problem is that any kind of log off action or scripting is controlled via USER options in group policy, not COMPUTER options.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree altogether?

please can I have your suggestions, thanks
