Small 2003 network with two servers both DC's. Originally an NT server (called BDC) was the NT4 PDC that was upgraded "in place" to activate AD then the other two servers were brought in as DC's and BDC was removed.
Now that AD is working on the two 2003 servers (int DNS) and the old server (BDC) is gone (and removed from DC list), the forward zone DOMAIN.DOM still has the NS record called _MSDCS that still shows the old server BDC.DOMAIN.DOM
Also the forward zone _MSDCS.DOMAIN.DOM also has an NS record that points to BDC.DOMAIN.DOM.
My question and issue is, the network with 25 users and two 2003 servers is working fine EXCEPT one server itself browses very slowly for its own Windows network. It's acting as if it is getting all of its browse/resource results from BROADCASTING as opposed to DNS queries. I know that the _MSDCS entry is incorrect since this BDC server is gone. SHould I change it to the one server that is the Global Catalogue server ?
