i just want to know how to do the networking... i got 5 pc and i have connected them all with a hub .... now i got win xp in 4 pc and win 98 in 1 pc ... now tell me the exact way how to share and view all the thing .. the networking show the computer connected but it is not recieving.. and in win 98 it is doing nothing so tell me all tips from a to z

1. Change your NIC's static to the same subnet ( 255.255.255.0) with an IP that is close (192.168.1.x) repalce x with a number for the pc say PC1= 192.168.1.10, PC2 would be 192.168.1.11 and so on........
2.Then once that is complete make all the PC's part of the same workgroup.
3. From PC 1 go to START>RUN> type CMD and hit enter
from here type- ping 192.168.1.11
**** IF THESE MACINES ARE GOING TO BE GOING OUT TO THE INTERNET YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPLY THE DEFAULT GATEWAY IF NOT THEN NO******
If you get a reply then everything else should work.
