Conect to VPN before Windows login and Connect to wireless before login
I use Windows Server 2003 Enterprise for my vpn server and I need to connect to it before I login to log in to the domain.
I have been searching google for a way to connect to my vpn before I login to my coputer so I can login to the domain from anywhere and have my profile backed up among other thngs
I found the Cisco VPN client an it seems to be the only thing I found in google that had any value, but it loks like it is not free, and only works wih the cisco vpn server
For the wireless, I would be nice if I could connect to the wireless before I login so I could vpn through wireless and not have to plug in.

Have you set the connectoid for your use only or anyone's use?
Try setting it to anyone's use and then when you select the 'use Dial-up networking' the VPN connectoid should appear.

oh, stupid me, all I had to do was input gibberish into the dial settings and it worked, thank you
now, is it possible to get the wireless to connect before logon and fyi the one I connect to is unsecured
I noticed that my roaming profile didn't synchronize, is there some setting for that?

Most of the time, if you use the manufacturers Wi-Fi client, this will not start until Windows is logged in, therefore you cannot connect to the wireless connection.
As prueconsulting said, set it to use windows to manage the wireless connection and you should be OK.

I use the wireless zero service, but I usually dont leave it on so its hard to test.

Thanks for the help, it works great now.

I need to connect to the VPN by IP Address, not by Phone Number.
That little checkbox on the login prompt asks me for phone numbers and area codes, not which VPN connection to use
