Network Security vs. Torrents

Hello hello!

I used to participate in the wonderful trade of Bit Torrents several months ago. However, my router started freezing up about once a day from the constant barrage of denial of service attacks.

I'd like to get into again, if there is a way to do it securely. As far as networking equipment goes, I have 1 main wireless router that is my primary "hub"... and a 2nd router that is branched off of that primary one. I also have a NAS hard drive connected to the primary router.

Is it possible to setup my network in a way that will allow full Torrenting but also protect me from constant harassment due to open ports?

((Note - I know torrenting is a risky subject, I'd just like to know if there are any creative things I can do to make it more secure. Please don't comment with a simple "don't torrent"... I've heard it before ;)  )) Start Free Trial
