I have ISA 2004 installed on windows 2003 and i create rule to open pop3 and smtp but when i try to connect by microsoft outlook i recived error
plz tell me how to permit outlook to connect throw isa

Where are the Outlook clients and the exchange server located. If the Exchange server and the outlook clients are in the same LAN, then ISA should not be an issue. However if the exchange server is in the DMZ then you need to open the ports.

but there is no exchange server. i have pop3 server external not on my local lan

So u just need to create a rule from internal to public for pop3 and smpt. Nothing else is required. make sure that the rules are configured properly

I created rule to open pop3 and smtp and i tested outlook express and its work well but microsoft outlook not work

Then this is not a ISA issue. If you use Office 2003, make sure that you have Office 2003 SP-2 installed. Without SP2 installed for office, there are some known issues.

double check your account settings in outlook. If it works with express then it should work with outlook.

Yes SP2 should help,, I had the same problem with MS Outlook till I has SP2

the problem from isa itself and i found article on microsoft to solve all isa problem.
