Hi all
I am running server 2003 ent edition domain with XP prof clients. Uptil now I was using my mandatory profiles to set the desktop for clients and logon.bat to map the network drives. But recently I noticed that the mandatory profiles work fine but my logon.bat does not work at all. Here is what I did:
-On a client I made a fresh profile, uploaded it to one of the servers shared folder and renamed the file ntuser.dat to ntuser.man to make it mandatory. Under the properties of the user under profile tab put the path of the profile as 'serv01\pro\prof'. Now when the users logon, they cannot delete the icons etc, even if they delete next time they log on the icons come back. NOTE: all my users have group policy as well which sets there IE, desktop backgrouds etc.
-I have logon.bat which maps different network drives. The name of the logon.bat under profiles tab is correct.
I have noticed:
THat if I make any changes to logon.bat it does not appear to users mapped drive.
I think the mandatory profiles and the logon.bat DO NOT run parallel to each other, I need help!
I need my logon.bat as well mandatory profiles to run in parallel to each other so that if I make any changed to logon.bat it appears instantly.
Help plz
