The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Basic Explanation of how Exchange Server works when two NICs are installed

Hello All

I'm trying to set up exchange server 2003 (SBS) for use in a VERY SIMPLE network.  There is only one server (SBS 2003).  The server has two nics for security.  One Nic is for the internal (local) network and has no gateway address, the other is for the internet connection.  A program, Wingate (similar to ISA but less $$$), acts as a gateway between the two nics.

I've been reading up on Exchange Server, but everything seems to be geared toward more complex networks.  I'm trying to put all this stuff on one server and still make it secure.  Is there a way to hide Excange Server behind Wingate, so that is only listens on the internal network?  Can OWA be made to go through wingate?

More info - Wingate is highly configurable, I currently have the network setup to use SBS 2k3 DNS, and wingate dns is turned off.  I could use the Wingate DNS instead if it would help.
