Browse All TopicsWe have a number of systems in place for monitoring and such but we are looking for something to manage a growing amount of documentation for switch ports, PDUs, KVM, cabinets, cages, etc. With things in Visio and Excel it is hard to manage.
What are the available tools that would be able to mange and keep documentation on these types of items. Please do NOT suggest monitoring applications as that is not what we are looking for.

We use sharepoint to store all of our portlists, ip control lists and other such data, you can import spreadsheets that you already have and control access, whilst ensure that you maintain version control, central storage and backup, you also have the option for everything to be authorised before submitted. Oh god I sound like and advert for miscrosoft...
The other option that you have is to use some sort of CVS system or content versioning system, if you google CVS you should find loads of open source ones.
