Cisco VPN Client Disconnecting Frequently

Asked by garlic_software in Miscellaneous Networking

When I connect using Cisco VPN Client (version below) the connection is getting disconnected every time.  More specifically, once I log in (lock icon on task tray), run mstsc to get to desktop in office.  After a few minutes (max), keyboard and mouse essentially "freeze up", soon to be followed by flashing 1 inch icon showing what appears to be a broken connection.   Thought it might be something conflicting with VPN and terminal services.  But, after a long, frustrating day, ran office outlook to get emails using only VPN Client connection, received some emails, then got a message stating something like the exchange server connection was broken.  Couldn't save or screen capture the message.  Anyhow, this leads me to believe that it is indeed VPN Client.

Laptop on which I'm trying to connect is running XP Pro 2002 (SP2) on pentium Centrino, 1.73 GHz, with 1GB of RAM.  Should be enough of a workhorse.  Also, using a wired connection through a Netgear Cable Modem Gateway... spent the $5 a month more to increase the bandwidth from 5Mb to 10Mb thinking that it could be the speed.    5Mb should be more than enough, but it was worth a shot.

Anybody out there with a solution that recognizes this?   I've attached a log created from the last time I tried (unsuccessfully) to get some work done.... hope that helps.   Once this is solved I'll be able to work remotely and will be able to avoid this FREAKIN' LA TRAFFIC!  Thanks in advance.
