RPC Server not available when setting up trust

Hi
whwn i try to setup a trust on one side of the domain it tells me that the rpc server is not availble the trust completes but i am not entirely happy that it is 100% also in routing and remote access i can vpn into the first domain but not the second the two domains are in the same location and on the same sub net would this have anything to do with the trust not working properly
