I'm really confused by this and would appreciate any help that can be offered.
I have a network with several different subnets over a WAN. I am trying to access a shared drive off of a target computer but unable to do so when I'm in the home office and logged into the domain. I can access the "Target A" from any other subnet and also when I'm in the corporate office and on a computer that is not a member of the domain. There is another computer (Target B) that I can access the shared drives without any problems. Neither Target A or B are membes of the domain.
Corp Subnet: 10.100.1.x
Target A: 10.106.100.204 (unable to access this computer)
Target B: 10.106.100.235 (successfully access the shares on this computer)
Other subnets: 10.10x.100.x
VPN Subnet: 172.31.100.x
DC: 10.100.1.1 (Windows 2003)
Error message received when typing "\\10.106.100.204" into the the Run dialog box: (("No network provider accepted the given network path" accessing shares across a WAN link))

I am using AD. But the target machine is not a member of the domain. The only computers that can not conntect to Target A are the ones that are members of the domain and in th home office.

This is a WAN infrastructure so while Target A does have an internal IP address I should still be able to connect to it from another subnet. I can ping it. The firewall does allow exceptions for file sharing as I can access Target A from any compute on the network that is not a member of the domain.
The whole thing is just weird.
