Windows 2003 Load balanced adapter has primary ip address not reach over a VPN connection, secondary ip address is reachable

We have a site-to-site vpn that is functional and passing traffic for the whole subnet except the server.

Windows 2003 server has load-balanced adapter with ip of 192.168.220.100.

This ip will not talk over the VPN.

NAT to this ip address from the Internet works great.

If it has assigned 192.168.220.102 as a secondary ip and it WILL talk over the vpn.

I suspect a MTU issue.

But MTU is layer 2 issue why would the secondary ip work?Start Free Trial
