DNS services is running but nslookup failed

Hi there,

I have a Windows domain controller which has DNS services running for many years. Recently the resolving of hostnames from the machines has failed on me.

I have ensure the services is running, but whenever i run a nslookup it says time out and then it fallover to my secondary dns.

Any ideas what is the problem and how to troubleshoot?
