No 1Gb full option on Broadcom NIC

Hi,
We installed a new 1Gb switch. Most NICs that are connected give me the option to hardcode the duplex setting to 1Gb Full.
But I have an IBM x336 with Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit NIC that won't allow this option. The only options are 10Mb Full, 10Mb half, 100Mb full, 100Mb half and Auto. I don't trust Auto.
Do I need to install the Broadcom utility to allow the 1Gb full and 1Gb half options?

I would like to close this question-it seems that they auto negotiate reliably at 1Gb
