Access Mapped Drive through Java Applet

Asked by dsechrist in Miscellaneous Networking, Sun Java System Web Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: Server 2008, Java, Network Share

I recently installed a new server(SBS 2008) at a clients office. They use  a couple websites to do a lot of photo uploading. However, when they open the java applet to browse to and select the photos the mapped network drives don't appear. Also, if they browse to the server from within the java applet it doesn't see the shares. It sees the shares that were setup by SBS on install but not the shares they need access too and have mapped to their computer(XP Pro).

Is there any known issues with Java and Server 2008 shares? Is this a setting somewhere in Java settings?
