Asked by ClayShooter in Miscellaneous Networking, Networking Cables
We have some new customers who are having AVPN circuits from AT&T installed. Many of the sites are using old house wiring (22AWG 25 pair) to run from the NIU upwards of 400+ feet to the CSU. Some sites are taking intermittent errors and AT&T is constantly testing clean to the NIU.
What is the normally accepted maximum length of an extention from the NIU to the CSU using the above type cabling and PPP or HDLC encapsulation on the T1? I've had past bad luck with anything over 325-350 feet but would love to hear others' experience.
Thanks.
