I have a Dell based Vista Business SP2 desktop PC.
Over the last couple of weeks it has begin to completely lose it's network connection.
I can open the Network Status dialogue box, and I can see the Received figure climbing, but Sent doesn't increase.
If I remove the network cable the system tray icon doesn't change to reflect a removed cable like it usually would. I cannot ping any address, either on the internet or on the LAN. I can ping the machines own IP, and localhost.
The only solution I have is to reboot the PC.
Any pointers, either on the cause or how to restore network services without a reboot, as I am at a bit of a loss.
