You are correct in thinking it is the TCP/IP settings.
But before you go there, if there is information you don't know open a command prompt and type:
ipconfig /all
there you can write down the information you need as it's been set dynamically.
All 5 pieces of information should be listed there (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS)
The secondary DNS is optional.
After you have the info, you can go to obtain automatically and type all the info in, and that will set the static IP.
