What is meant by POA SLAP in the GroupWise Client log?
I was working to diagnose a problem in a GroupWise system when I noticed "POA SLAP" appearing in the log of a client. From my reading I have learned that POA SLAP is now being logged as of [client] 6.5 sp5 but I can't find documentation anywhere that tells me if POA SLAP is a good or bad event. I'm looking for an understanding of this message, either through an explanation here on EE or by reference to documentation available elsewhere. Thanks.

I had found the two Novell TIDs in my search and I agree that the phrase "POA SLAP" now appears in the logs for troubleshooting purposes but how do I use it for troubleshooting. Is it normal to be present? Should I be concerned if I don't see it? Why didn't I see it weeks ago with the first systems that I upgraded to the sp5 and sp6 client?. Still seeking a more complete understanding . . .

According to TID #10096706 (http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?10096706.htm), POA SLAPs would seem to be "keepalive" traffic between the POA and the GroupWise client. TID10090384 # http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?10090384.htm) also discusses it.
Summary: Looks to be routine information that appears in the logs for troubleshooting purposes.
