Nortel Switch Configuration

we have 2 Nortel BayStack 350 Switches.  I can telnet into them but I need assistance in backing up the current Configuration.  The backup should be copied into my server.  Can you please assist me with that.

Are you using Management Software (Device Manager) for the Baystack? (not the CLI)

If not, use the Device Manager.

In the Main Menu -> Edit -> File System. You will find option for upload or download configuration and image files.

When I telnet into the switches, I do not see any Device Manager Where I can have the option for editing File System?

No, The Device Manager is a GUI application (runs on Windows or Linux). You can check at the nortel website if you can download one.

Oh ok..well would it automatically integrate with the current configured Nortel Switch once we download the Device Manager?

Yes, It will integrate. You just need to give the management IP of the Nortel Switch.

Can you provide me a link of Device Manager for Baystack 350 Switch.  I am not able  to get the right Software Installed.  I went to Nortel.com but was not able to install it.

If the switch is older than July 1, 2006 then you need to completed Software Entitlement Request.

You need to have the model and serial number in hand.

btw, I do not do this at my office, and someone else is responsible in getting it and uploading it from our Internal Server. I use it from there.
