The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Setting up Websense Express.

Tags: websense, express
I would like to implement Websense Express in a 60-70 computer network for the co. I work for. I'd like to trial this software before I make final decisions. We have three seperated buildings. In two buildings, each have a DNS server. Both are running Windows 2003 R2. I believe they replicate with each other when changes are made with AD, Exchage server, etc.

We have an extra Dell server that we have not put into use yet, and I've been allowed to use it to test software and such. I want to setup Websense with this server. It originally had SQL Server 2005 all ready installed. I had to uninstall the '05 SQL Server in order to install the Websense Express software. I did a fresh install of Websense, and it also installed the MSDE that's required with Websense.

After installing Websense, I used the network monitoring tool to see what it detected. It has only been detecting 3-4 computers. It detects the same computers always. It's only detecting our domain servers (which is two), and I think it would also detect our Exchange server. I don't remember exactly as I was messing with it a week ago, and havn't touched it since. I enabled both NIC's, and I asked the other IT tech I work with if both NIC's are connected to the same switch as the domain servers, he said they were. They are supposadlly connected to the network with the rest of the 60-70 computers with nothing in between. Technically it should be detecting way more than just our domain, and Exchange servers.

Any ideas? All help, advice, and tips would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
