It could have an impact on network traffic as Spiceworks do tend to contact or discover new/removed device on a regular basis.

I was wondering if anyone has seen performance issues with installing Spiceworks on a SBS 2003 server? We have a Dell Poweredge 1800 with Zeon processor and 1 gig memory?
Thanks,
Roger

Yes and No.
Spice works is a hungry app, but not as hungry as most that perform the inventory task. It is impossible to answer this without Knowing what your server has free. but to give you an idea on my SBS box it takes 67Mb of RAM, i have a E7200 Dual core @ 2.53Ghz, with 1Gig of RAM. I have the inventory configured to run outside hours, so no noticible effect on CPU.
But then i dont have any fileshares from this server it is only doing Exchange (20 Users), IIS (7 Sites), DNS, DHCP, AD.
Basically i would try it and monitor it. If it does then you will need to find another home for it. It can sit on a workstation.
