I am at the beginning of a project to implement VLANs on our network. Our main reason for the VLAN project is to reduce broadcast traffic. My question is this,
How can I get a "before" and "after" picture of how much broadcast traffic is on our network so I can measure the effectiveness of this project?
I have used Ethereal before for monitoring specific ports, but I'm not aware of a way to measure broadcast traffic for the entire network, not just one port. Any ideas?
