Default Gateway issue

hello all,
I have a question with regards to routing.

we have a small network of 200 nodes (192.168.4.0/24)  and its also VLANd across to another network using a Layer 3 sw. (192.168.5.0/24)   "Dont ask my why its like this, its shorty going to be ripped out and replaced with a (192.168.10.0/31)"

All traffic to the outside world is routed to a single 10mbps router (Cisco 2610)  on the 192.168.5 which is the Default Gateway.. This gateway also redirects all (.4.0/24) traffic back to the layer 3. to see the correct network.

My question is.. " all that traffic routed back to the (.4.0/24) network, will that have a maximum through put of 10mbps? does all the traffic route back through that router.. "

I'm guessing it does, but just wanted to check before I rip it out.
