- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. I have a user with a small LAN (~10 laptops/desktops) plus another 10 restaurant server terminals (all Win 2K/XP). The restaurant is too far for DSL/Cable Modem, so they have HughesNet Satellite. They have been exceeding their "Fair Access" [sic] limit on a regular basis, causing internet speeds to slow down to dialup, which is killing them. What is the best way to find what is causing the problem? I am going to turn off Automatic Windows Updates for the time being on all PCs. Is there any other way to target which of the PC(s) are using lots of bandwidth? SEP 11 is installed there as well - I have configured the management server to go out and get updates only at 4am daily, in the "unlimited use" hours, but the problem persists. Thanks for any pointers.
