Cascading switches versus uplinking each to core

Asked by Petrofac_ITlogmein in Network Design & Methodology, Network Switches & Hubs, Network Management

While selecting infrastructure design for the switches, I was wondering about the pros and cons of cascading switches via back plane and connecting the last one in the series to the core vis a vis connecting each of my switches to core via a redundant fibre.

What are the advantages / disadvantages of the two design scenarios apart from the obvious advantage of better manageability in cascaded mode.Start Free Trial
